After an extremely successful pilot program in 2016, at the University of Tasmania, Newnham campus, we are pleased to announce the Creating My Career pilot is expanding state-wide in 2017.
What is Creating My Career?
Creating My Career (CMC) is a partnership between the University of Tasmania, the Tasmanian State Department of Education’s My Education program and TasTAFE with strong support from Rotary Tasmania. CMC is providing students with a practical look into what a career in a chosen cluster actually looks like. Click here for more on clusters. With a hands-on approach years 8 and 9 students are encouraged to fully explore what they will need to do in order to find a career in their chosen cluster.
Who is CMC for?
There are two parts to CMC.
1. CMC is for any year 8 -9 student who wants to learn more about a potential career. CMC is designed for anyone who is unsure of what their future career pathway might be. Completion of the personality survey will assist students to chose a cluster that matches their personality type. Participation is through completion of an online registration portal (opening in late April) where students will select a cluster that is of interest to them.
2. It's also for businesses who want to see what the workforce of the future looks like and share there skills with interested, engaged students. Business have the opportunity to work with students who really want to see, hear and try what you do. Click here for more information on how you can participate.
“I’m glad I got a chance to ask people questions who are actually from the field I am interested in.”
