A resource pack outlining key features of CMC will be sent to all schools prior to registrations opening. If you have not received your pack by March 31 please download one here.
Q. Is this just for Department of Education (DoE) students?
A. Creating My Career (CMC) is open to all Tasmanian school students in years 8 and 9, not just DoE students.
Q. How much does it cost?
A. Schools are charged per student registered. A full resource pack will be sent to your school prior to registration opening (Late April 2017) with costs.
Q. Do you provide busses?
A. No, all transport to and from the venues is at the schools expense.
Q. Where do we park?
A. If arriving by bus, the bus companies are familiar with both TasTAFE and University campuses. If travelling on your own there is no free parking on university campuses and limited free parking at TasTAFE. More detail is in the resource pack.
Q. Is lunch (morning or afternoon tea) provided?
A. No. All school teachers/staff and students are advised to bring there lunch/snacks for the day. Both the University of Tasmania and TasTAFE have canteen/cafes that will be open, but due to time constraints we suggest packing lunch.
Q. How many students can I send?
A. Numbers are limited and an offer will be sent in your resouce pack outling how many students we can accommodate. We try to ensure as many students as possible are able to attend from each school. We can not however guarantee student numbers.
Q. If a student doesn't get the cluster they really want can I send them there anyway?
A. As outlined on this website places are limited so as to ensure a quality experience for students and industry. If a session is sold out we are not able to accommodate anymore students. We do however suggest that students complete the personality survey to determine which cluster they should chose. Normally they would fit into at least two - three different clusters.
Q. Why do we have to register students?
A. We reccomend the student register themselves but in some instances schools chose to do it. Registration is important as it allocates students to a particular cluster of interest and we can ensure industry partners have the right student on the day.
